Tips for putting left navigation in order

In our series of tips to make eRooms efficient and user friendly, here is another nice tip for making the left-side navigation of the eRoom ordered the way you want it.  By default, eRoom displays navigation items alphabetically.  Many users know how to rearrange the top-level icons manually by dragging them while in the large icon view (the default for the top level), much like a Windows desktop.  But the problem is that the left-side navigation doesn't rearrange with it.  read more

Lock down the home page to preserve a "clean" look

One of the recommended best practices in eRoom is limiting the number of top-level items (to more than 10 or 12).  To enforce this, coordinators can make it "Read Only" at any time via the eRoom-level settings.  Enter eRoom settings, select  Options...Access Control… and click the checkbox for Read Only.  This eliminates the "Create" button on the home page and prevents any moving, deleting, or creating of items on that level.  It does not impact any other level.  read more
